At deRMA Skin Institute’s Guelph Dermatology Research, we are dedicated to advancing the science of dermatology. Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Dusan Sajic and his team conduct research and clinical trials to advance the development of safe and effective treatments for a variety of clinical conditions. Dr. Sajic has extensive experience in this area, having served as an associate investigator conducting clinical studies at Probity Medical Research.
Important To Know
If you choose to participate in a clinical research trial, a member of our research team will explain the study to you, review any potential risks and benefits, and answer all your questions. Be aware that you have the following rights:

Current Research Studies
We are currently recruiting for the following studies:
Description: There is no cost to participate. Qualified participants will have regular visits with study doctors who specialize in treating hidradenitis suppurativa. Participation will last up to 66 weeks and involve about 33 visits to the study research site.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Be an adult male or female age ≥ 18
- Have a diagnosis of moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa or at least 6 months
- HS lesions in at least 2 distinct anatomic areas
- Biologic naive and inadequate response to antibiotics in the past 1 year

Description: There is no cost to participate. Qualified participants will have regular visits with study doctors who specialize in treating atopic dermatitis. Participation will last up to 28 weeks and involve about 11 visits to the study research site.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Be an adult male or female age 18 to 54 (inclusive)
- Have a diagnosis of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis for at least 6 months
- History of inadequate response to topical treatments (i.e. corticosteroids)
- Have not received any meningococcal vaccine in the past 1 year, and no pertussis-containing vaccine within the past 5 years.

Description: There is no cost to participate. Qualified participants will have regular visits with study doctors who specialize in treating alopecia areata. Participation will last up to 24 weeks and involve about 11 visits to the study research site.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Be an adult male or female age ≥ 18 and ≤ 65 years
- Have a diagnosis of moderate to severe alopecia areata for at least 6 months but < 8 years prior to the Screening visit.
- Have a scalp involvement of ≥ 50%
- No evidence of terminal hair regrowth within 6 months prior to the Screening visit.

Description: There is no cost to participate. Qualified participants will have regular visits with study doctors who specialize in treating plaque psoriasis. Participation will last up to 56 weeks and involve about 18 visits to the study research site.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Be an adult male or female age ≥ 18
- Have a diagnosis of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis for at least 6 months
- Have body surface area of involvement ≥ 10%
- Not have any clinically significant medical condition (i.e. cardiovascular, renal, hepatic, hematological, gastrointestinal, endocrine, pulmonary, or immunological)
