What Does Restylane Do?
All grades of the Restylane gel fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in our skin that supports hydration and helps add volume to plump and smooth skin. This is the same substance used in JUVÉDERM and other HA fillers. Restylane fillers are very popular for use in reversing the signs of aging in the face because they are long-lasting and allow a freedom of movement.

What Are Gel Dermal Fillers?
Restylane products are formulated with a gel-like texture that allows patients to have natural-looking expressions by remaining flexible while adding shape and volume to the face. Thanks to the different consistencies of the Restylane family of products, you can be assured you will achieve natural-looking results while achieving the filling and lifting you expect from dermal fillers.
Unlike other HA fillers, Restylane’s formula allows the filler to move and stretch as you move your face, allowing you a full range of expressions without any stiffness or fear of looking unnatural.
Which Restylane Fillers Do You Offer?
We offer the full line of Restylane dermal fillers at deRMA Skin Institute, and tailor the treatment to suit your aesthetic needs. Each product uses a different density to address specific skin concerns.
Restylane Silk is the smoothest, thinnest gel dermal filler in the Restylane family. It is designed specifically for the lips and lip lines. Using Restylane Silk, your provider can perform lip injections to give you fuller, softer-looking lips that look and feel natural.
Restylane Refyne gel filler is made up of medium-sized particles that work to soften the nasolabial lines around the nose and smooth the marionette lines around the mouth. This dermal filler is thicker than Silk, which allows it to soften lines around the nose and mouth while allowing the freedom of natural facial movement.
Restylane Defyne is a thicker texture used to fill in and smooth out deeper laugh lines and enhance chin projection. Like Refyne, Defyne is used to treat the lines around the nose and mouth. Thanks to its thicker gel structure, it works best for deeper lines and wrinkles to address more pronounced signs of facial aging.
Restylane Contour is a gel filler used to lift and fill the upper cheeks, restoring lost volume to sagging and hollowed cheek bones while allowing for natural facial expressions. This gel filler is specifically designed to plump and lift the apples of the cheeks, using larger HA particles to add volume to cheeks while allowing you to smile and express yourself without appearing “frozen” or “bloated.”
Restylane Lyft can also be used to fill and plump the cheeks, fill in deeper lines on the face, and add volume to the back of the hands. This thicker gel formula is designed to fill in hollows on the face and hands, giving you a more youthful-looking appearance all over.
Your Experience
During your consultation, your provider will perform an assessment of your face and ask questions to understand your aesthetic goals. Then, they will design a customized treatment plan combining Restylane products to help achieve your goals and help you look your best.
All Restylane fillers contain lidocaine, an anaesthetic designed to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Your provider will use a cannula or micro-cannula, a blunt-tipped needle-like device to inject the filler into your skin and lips, minimizing the possibility of bruising and discomfort. Depending on your needs, your provider can treat multiple areas of the face and hands at the same time. Restylane fillers can be combined with other dermal fillers like JUVÉDERM, Sculptra®, Radiesse®, and cosmetic treatments like BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®.
Results from Restylane are visible immediately, and can last up to 6 months.
